Last week Adam saw me knitting a sweater - and wanted to know if I could possibly make a scarf for him. Since the Marbles live in Connecticut, where it can get pretty cold in the winter, I figured he needed a scarf knit with the "patent steek - (Dutch)", or "Fisherman's Stitch" - this stitch provides maximum warmth.
After I had Adam's scarf made, I figured I'd better go on and make matching scarves for the rest of the family - and here they are, showing off.
(Kayla thinks Adam is the handsomest man in the world!)
For those of you who would like the pattern - it's really easy:
Use knitting worsted yarn. For Adam's scarf I cast on 40 stitches (always have an even amount of stitches). First row: knit 1, purl 1. Second row: slip first stitch as if to knit, * purl 1, knit 1 in the stitch below*, repeat between ** , purl last stitch. Repeat second row until desired length.
